Cream of Brocolli soup
Its my first week back in chicago, and thank God school hasn’t started yet. So I have some time to get my life settled in for the next semester. Any, tonight I did some grocery shopping and grabed some long term food (hopefully last me til mid feb). I decided to make some cream of brocolli soup tonight after realizing 83 cents was just a lil too much for soup. So after remembering some advice from food network on soup making I went about my business. so heres the recipe
Broth Base-
chicken
celery
onions
carrots
salt
pepper
plenty of water
(boil for an ill minute)
Cream of Brocoli
Carrots, onions, and brocolli simmer in butter for a while.
1/4 cup of flour on top till some was brown (Technically your suppose to brown the flour in the butter first to make a rue. but then the vegatables have to saute in flour and butter….) ANYWAY.
transfer to a pot, add some broth, more butter, salt, nutmeg (yea i know, but it works), thyme, and some more pepper., and two baked potatoes. I also added in a …triangular prism? of Swiss laughing cow cheese, just could I can.
And I was pleased, and called it GOOOOOD
